Cleaning with Sodium Carbonate and fine pumice

<p>The alkali bath didn&#39;t work so well, or I&#39;m too impatient to wait for it! Anyway after a hour I ran some water down the steel and it ran off in a way that shows it&#39;s still greasy, so I decided to use sodium carbonate (soda crystals) and fine pumice instead. It&#39;s quick, great for the impatient! That reminds me, I must try using toothpaste sometime, it&#39;s not much different.</p> <p>Anyway the soda and pumice was more effective at cleaning than using the hot alkali bath.</p>
