I tried this method of drying the steel pieces after I'd washed them. So long as they dried quickly they didn't develop any rusting, but, after they've been shotblasted the surface is prone to rusting due to the increased surface area. They can't be dried with a paper towel because the surface is too rough.
The other method was to use a heat gun, and this was a lot quicker and more effective, but I don't have any photos of this. I used the type of gun sold in DIY shops for taking off wallpaper.
