I aim to fire the piece at 800°C for the duration of the firing. This may mean initially having the kiln at a hotter temperature to account for the temperature drop when the piece goes in, say 810°C. The extra temperature to add onto 800°C will depend upon the heat absorbed by the piece and the trivet.
